When should I use a marking guide or a rubric? In-Person
Both marking guides and rubrics can be consistent, accurate, and fair in their own ways. Both can show students how their assignments are being graded and might reduce the time faculties spend grading student work. The question for a faculty member is, which grading form best suits the task at hand, and how can I use it to provide a clear and consistent grade to my students?
This session is designed to help faculty members understand the difference between marking guides and rubrics. The workshop will explore the commons and differences between sthem, the kind of feedback they provided, and when choosing each one to grade.
