Technology Competencies Myths In-Person
This session is designed to help faculty understand their own level of preparedness to assist students with technological issues that may arise during online or hybrid classes. We want to hear about your experience and confidence in helping students with technological challenges; examples of these challenges might include assisting students to save a Word document as a PDF, troubleshooting microphone and webcam issues during synchronous classes, or assisting with technical issues related to online coursework.
The workshop will then delve deeper into the topic of technology competencies, exploring common myths and misunderstandings that can impact faculty's ability to support students effectively. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and challenges related to helping students with technology, and discuss strategies and resources that have been successful in addressing these issues. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to gather information and insights that will inform the CTL (Center for Teaching and Learning) on how we can better support faculty in supporting their students in digital learning environments.
