Finding the Pearls - Debriefing Student Evaluations (Online) In-Person
Student comments on teaching evaluations can hold clues to improving teaching practice. In this session we will explore some of the research relating to the analysis of written comments from students for specific factors within an instructor’s control, such as teaching skill and clarity, outcome alignment, and lecture quality. Although generally student evaluation of teaching (SET) results are seen as low quality, they can have a high impact and open the door to student perceptions of pedagogical practices.
