Simulation-Based Learning: a versatile approach to a wide range of fields and professions In-Person

Simulation-Based Learning is an immersive learning strategy that replicates real-world scenarios to facilitate complex skills involving problem-solving, diagnosing, communication, and collaboration. It is based on the principles of experiential learning, active participation, reflection, and feedback to promote skill acquisition, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Although it has mainly been used in healthcare education and research, the framework can be applied to other disciplines in higher education to enhance learning outcomes and skills development.

This session aims to introduce you to the principles of clinical simulation and discuss ways to use it to promote real-world applied learning experiences, which will help them navigate challenging situations in a safe teaching environment.
