Student silence in classroom discussions – What does it mean and what can you do? In-Person

If you use class discussions as an instructional strategy, does this sound familiar: the same students raise their hands; the same students speak on behalf of the small group discussions. Is there a way to distribute the scope of the contributions? In this session we will look at some strategies to respond to student silence so that class discussions are rewarding and meaningful for all participants.
