Beyond ChatGPT: AI Tools for Higher Education (Online) In-Person

It's been over a year since generative AI came onto the scene and disrupted teaching practices for educators all over the world. Now, there are thousands of tools out there, with more being launched every day. How do we keep up with it all?

In this session, we'll take a look at a few key tools that students and faculty can access right now, including tools that can analyze PDF texts, streamline systematic reviews of academic literature, create images and videos, or convert notes into slide decks. We'll consider the implications of these tools to teaching, including how to use them to your and your students' advantage, and we will discuss how to keep tabs on new developments in AI without getting too overwhelmed.

NOTE: This session will not provide hands-on technical training. Instead, participants will get an overview of what is possible and discuss ideas for how these tools can be leveraged in the classroom. Follow-up resources will be provided for those interested in creating accounts and getting started with the tools.
