De-escalation Skills for the Classroom [online] In-Person
Have you experienced rude or difficult communication with students? Are you unsure of what you can do in the moment?
In collaboration with the Office of Student Conduct, this session will describe de-escalation skills and the best practices for managing elevated interactions and behaviors in the classroom. A representative from the Office of Student Conduct will share how their office can best support you, and offer guidance on the best strategies to manage difficult student interactions. We will cover several principles for de-escalation, and cover examples of strategies you can try in the moment.
