From AI to A+: Teaching Students Critical Thinking in a Digital Age Panel Discussion [Online] Online

In the panel discussion AI to A+: Teaching Students Critical Thinking in a Digital Age, faculty members from various disciplines will explore how AI tools can both aid and hinder the development of critical thinking skills and learning. Moderated by Paul Sopcak, Academic Integrity Officer, the panel includes Ozlem Cankaya (Human Services and Early Learning), Sarah Copland (English), Eric Legge (Psychology), and William Schultz (Sociology), who will share how they approach the challenges and opportunities that generative AI tools have brought to postsecondary education.

The event is meant to provide impetus to cross-disciplinary discussions on this topic across campus that include ethical considerations, academic and degree integrity, as well as concrete strategies to integrate AI into your teaching and minimize inappropriate use of genAI tools. A video message by Janice Kenney (Earth & Planetary Sciences) will kick off the event and ample time will be reserved for a general discussion.
