Students as Partners: Designing Effective Feedback Mechanisms for your Teaching

Students as Partners: Designing Effective Feedback Mechanisms for your Teaching In-Person

Student feedback on teaching can be a hit or miss. Establishing continuous dialogues where students provide constructive input to shape your teaching strategies can be more effective than the end of semester feedback form. Students as partners practices can be helpful in that regard. The concept of "students as partners" in higher education emphasizes a collaborative, reciprocal relationship between students and faculty or staff. In this session we will discuss some simple steps you can take to build impactful dialogues between you and your students, by taking a students as partners approach. With effective feedback mechanisms you can strategically strengthen your teaching practice.
