Curriculum Mapping with "Curriculum Links" [in-person] In-Person

Are you involved in curriculum mapping as part of designing new academic programs or reviewing existing programs?

Curriculum mapping is a process that charts the association between course outcomes and program-level learning outcomes. Other elements such as teaching and learning activities or student assessment strategies can also be included. A curriculum map shows how courses collectively contribute to a program’s learning outcomes and can identify gaps in outcome coverage, teaching strategies, and student assessment methods.

This session provides an introduction to the processes of curriculum review and curriculum mapping. We will also explore Curriculum Links, a web-based platform for streamlining the process of curriculum mapping. This platform saves manual work in collecting/collating data and can produce customizable reports. It is provided free by the University of Calgary Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning and is recommended by leaders in academic quality assurance at MacEwan and across the province.

Note: This session is offered in-person. It is recommended that you bring a laptop as there will be time for hands-on practice on the software platform, working through a provided example and optionally, you may start a project with your own program curriculum information.
