Leading in Academia: Panel Presentation with Dr. Mike Annett and Allan Wesley In-Person

Join this in person session to learn from two colleagues in the School of Business as they share their professional experiences and perspectives on Educational Leadership.

Dr. Mike Annett, Ph.D., CPHR, serves as an Associate Dean in MacEwan University’s School of Business and is a nationally recognized educator whose work bridges academic excellence with career readiness. Mike has led initiatives that align curriculum with industry needs and regularly provides expert opinions on curriculum design and transformation. He has initiated international virtual exchanges that connect students across borders to explore global HR practices, and advances case-based pedagogy through leadership roles with the North American Case Research Association and The CASE Journal. Mike’s leadership philosophy centers on action, inclusion, and continuous improvement.  Mike received MacEwan University's Teaching Leadership Award in 2024.

Allan Wesley, recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award and elected City Councillor for Fort Saskatchewan, is recognized for his authentic and caring approach, as well as his commitment to student success. He has been a mentor to numerous instructors, generously sharing his resources, inviting colleagues to observe his classes, and providing peer feedback. He has served on multiple university committees, including as Chair of the Business Programs and Curriculum Committee between 2019-2022. Beyond campus, Allan supports his local communities by volunteering in various leadership roles, such as Treasurer for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank and Chair of Heartland Air Monitoring. Allan views education as a community effort and applies his skills and passion while teaching finance to food bank volunteers and explaining air monitoring and emissions data to the general public.
