ED Talks: Reflect on Effective Teaching with the Teaching Behaviour Checklist (Presented by: Lisa Shamchuk) In-Person
The Teacher Behavior Checklist (TBC) was developed to be a student evaluation of teaching (SET), a self-reflection tool, and a research tool used to help answer the question: What kinds of behaviours represent high-quality teaching? This tool has been studied extensively to understand its psychometric properties, effectiveness, and applicability across different educational contexts.
Session participants will become familiar with the TBC and using it to reflect upon their own effective teaching qualities. Lisa Shamchuk will share the method used to gather and reflect upon both her own perceptions, as well as student perceptions, of impactful teaching, along with practical strategies for integrating the TBC into reflective practice.
