Physical Learning Spaces that Support Teaching and Learning In-Person

Have you ever visited the classroom (physical or digital) before the semester begins to consider how the learning space might be a companion to your teaching and learning plans? Learning environments aren’t neutral. Sometimes spaces can constrain or offer lots of possibilities for our pedagogical intentions. But how do we think about the connection between space and student learning?  In this session, we will consider how physical space can impact learning and look at some strategies for making the most of spaces, despite their constraints. This is an invitation to see your classroom as a more than container for learning and possibly see it as an active partner in the work of teaching.
