Introduction to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) (In-Person session) In-Person

You've probably heard of SoTL before, but what exactly is it, how does it differ from educational research, and what are some of the first things you should consider when getting started?

SoTL is a unique research practice that allows us to engage in systematic inquiry into our teaching. In this session, we'll take a closer look at what sets SoTL apart from other forms of research, including educational research and disciplinary research, and we'll cover the foundations of a strong SoTL project. There will also be a brief overview of SoTL research question development and an introduction to some key SoTL methodologies and ethical considerations, all of which are expanded upon in other, more focused CTL sessions throughout the semester.

If you're new to SoTL or you're SoTL-curious and want to know if this is an avenue to explore further, sign up and see what all the fuss is about!
