Mid-semester check ins that matter In-Person

How are my classes going? Are the students experiencing deep significant learning? Are they flourishing, optimistic, and oriented toward the learning ahead? Can they evaluate how their learning coming along? Can I evaluate how my teaching is going? Where can I provide feedback that is truly formative? How can I gather feedback that strengthens my own teaching?

This session won’t promise tidy answers to complex questions, but it will make space for the right ones. Bring your questions that surface around this time each semester and in this session we will discuss some well-established strategies for mid-semester check-ins that support both student learning and teaching practice.

This is a good time to gather some feedback on what’s going well and where some tweaks are needed. Mid-semester check-ins that draw on students’ metacognitive skills and tell you something about your teaching are the insights that really matter for your progress through the semester.
