îbutze îciyabi (to make yourself thirsty) In-Person

Location: Elder Jerry Wood Atrium, Room 11-160, Allard Hall, 11110 – 104 Avenue, Edmonton, AB

Join us for îbutze îciyabi (to make yourself thirsty), the final event in the Interdisciplinary Dialogue Project 2026: Food Matters series.

This event brings Indigenous and Muslim perspectives into conversation around fasting—as an intentional practice, a form of care and discipline, and a necessary reality for many.

Together, we will reflect on how fasting connects mind and body, heart and spirit; strengthens community and responsibility; and highlights the interconnectedness of nourishment, belonging, and justice.

The evening concludes with an Iftar supper at the kihêw waciston Indigenous Centre, and is a collaboration between the Interdisciplinary Dialogue Project, kihêw waciston, and Islamic Family.
