SUMMARY:Course Readings CPR Reloaded - Bring Readings to Life [Online]
DESCRIPTION:Are students neglecting assigned readings\, leaving your class
discussions flat\, or struggling to grasp concepts not included in your
lecture slides? This session explores how to improve comprehension and
participation and ensure the relevance of course readings in higher
education.\n\nThis session will present some of the literacy challenges
we’re seeing in higher education and some of the strategies that can help
to better engage students in course readings. Then participants will see
how Alethea\, an AI-driven reading tool designed to help bridge the gap
between course readings and student engagement\, can help optimize course
materials and ensure they resonate with learners.\n\nTopics covered will
include\n\n\n	how reading and literacy is different in digital
environments\;\n	how to distinguish between different purposes for course
readings and identify appropriate strategies to serve those
purposes\;\n	how to use Alethea to analyze and adapt reading materials\,
ensuring they align with students' comprehension levels and your teaching
goals\;\n	how to create interactive reading activities using Alethea’s AI
assistant\;\n	how to provide accessible formats and technology-enhanced
reading resources\; and\n	how to foster a learning environment where AI
supports both instructors and students in preparation\, collaboration\, and
 participation.\n
