 teaching and learning? In this session we will look at the idea of kindness 
 as a facet of critical pedagogy\, trauma-informed teaching practices\, and 
 compassionate pedagogies. We will discuss some misconceptions about the 
 idea of kindness in the academy and suggest some practical ways that 
 weaving some research-backed practices can strengthen your plans for the 
 academic year. Start your year strong with some simple actions that can 
 support your goals for effective teaching.
