SUMMARY:Assessment Philosophy [in person]
DESCRIPTION:How do you approach assessment? Is it a way to measure student
growth and learning\, or has it become a function of administrative
requirements and balancing the needs of your own workload?\n\nIn this
session\, we will look at different philosophies of approaching assessment
and do some reflective exercises to determine where you fall. We will offer
some examples of different approaches\, the limits\, and possibilities of
each\, and discuss situations where each one might have a necessary
pedagogical purpose. Come examine your own assessment philosophy\, and
leave with some ideas to apply to your future courses.
